Our lion was inspired by the Medieval Bestiary's of the British Isles and Europe that go onto describe their personalities, hair styles and lifestyles which where painted in fine detail dependant on the imagination of the artist creating their image, because, after all, lions were scant on the ground in Medieval monasteries... hence his distinct eyebrows, humanised eyes, and coifed hair all taken from these magnificent images. A little outside our usual style but we loved creating him and hope to dabble with the bestiaries again some time.
