No, we haven't spelt her name wrong, she changed it to the other spelling when she was younger (and that one has been copyrighted but her likeness can't be). Every so often we create a new one of a kind Frieda, none are the same, no moulds, just made with love and reverence for a woman who expressed herself through visual art and inspired us by the many images of her in her paintings and photographs.
She was herself in a most uncompromising way, making her so iconic today that she is revered as a goddess by the creatives, and as a kind of modern day saint for a whole generation of young women. She is worshipped near and far as an icon of new womanhood and she was has been a catalyst of empowerment to female artists the world over.
