Nuummie Turquoise and Black Spiral Brownie

Who does't love a good spiral?  Spirals and Labyrinths are things that we repeat over again in our work.  There is something unadulteratedly primal in their form symbolising life and the mortal coil, and also portal like, and what magical thinker isn't at least partly fascinated by portals?

This sweet little Nuummie has a bold spiral carved into her form free hand that eventually meets itself on the back of her body, but then we glazed over her entire body with a turquoise glaze to give her a strange and other worldly effect, because ceramics allow you to create glaze combinations that have never been visited before, pure alchemy.  We see her as a guardian of the betwixt and between, a sort of Nuummie Heimdall so to speak.

She is very good natured, and like all of our work, shes completely handmade with a true folk heart.
